Dujdao Vadhanapakorn is an award-winning performer, director, set designer and producer. She has training in contemporary dance, Butoh, Laban, Viewpoints, and an M.A in Dance Movement Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University of London. Dujdao joined B-Floor in 2002 as a performer in "Crying Century." Since then she has performed with B-Floor in productions in Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and the U.S. Some of her most notable performances include “San Dan Ka” (2009, 2013, 2018), “Begin Again” (2009), “Flu-O-Less-Sense” (2010), “Taste of Curry” (2011, 2012), and “Survival Games” (2013). Her ensemble performance in “Oxygen” (2012) won “Best Ensemble Performance” from the Thai Section of the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC – Thailand), and “San Dan Ka” received The Bangkok Theatre Festival awards for “Best Movement Based Performance” and “Best Ensemble Performance” in 2013.

 

In 2009 Dujdao directed and set designed her debut work with B-Floor "Something Else: An Experiential Performance" and has gone on to direct and/or set design many other B-Floor productions. Her acting, directing and set design work have received several IATC – Thailand awards, with “(In)Sensitivity” (2013) winning Best Art Direction and Best Movement Based Performance and “Secret Keeper” (2015) winning Best Art Direction. Moreover, The Bangkok Theatre Festival highly awarded “Blissfully Blind,” which won Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Movement Based Performance and Best Ensemble Performance in 2017. Most recently, The Bangkok Post listed "(In)Sensitivity" in the top five theatre productions of the decade in a top ten theatre review.

 

Dujdao has also produced many notable and award-winning B-Floor productions including “Red Tank” (2014), “Iceberg” (2014, 2015), “Bang La Merd” (2012, 2015), and “Sawan Arcade” (2018). “Iceberg” received the awards for Best Male Performance, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, and Best Movement Based Performance in 2014 from The Bangkok Theatre Festival. Meanwhile, “Red Tank” (2014) received Best Performance by a Male Artist, “Bang La Merd” (2012) received Best Original Script and “Sawan Arcade” (2018) won Best Performance by a Female Artist from IATC-Thailand.

 

Outside her work with B-Floor, Dujdao has also performed, directed, set designed and produced many of her own productions, most recently “Afterlight” at the 2018 Bangkok Art Biennale and “Humanimal” (2019) at 100 Tonson Gallery. As an actress she has worked with numerous other Thai and international theatre artists, such as “Happy Hunting Ground” (2017) a co-production of Democrazy Theatre Studio, Goethe-Institut and Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. In 2014 she won the IATC-Thailand award for Best Performance by a Female Artist for her role in “The Maids.” She has also worked as a TV show host for various Thai television programs and has performed in international films such as "The Lady" and "Only God Forgives." 

 

In addition to her artistic work, from 2012-2020 Dujdao worked in healthcare as an Empathic Communication Specialist with Bangkok Dusit Medical Services. Now she runs her own company, Empathy Sauce, which creates and builds empathy and empathic communication in Thai society through classes and workshops.
