About the Production
Over 2,000 kilometers of border between Thai and Myanmar, and yet people from the two countries seem never to be allied from what we were told in Thai history books.
Parallel pro-democracy movements in Thailand and Myanmar since 2020 sparked a historic alliance in regional contemporary politics. Commissioned by Kyoto Experiment 2022, Jarunun revisited her memories and collaborated with 4 Thai-Burmese actors to conceive a way of telling stories about the relationship between citizens of “neighboring” countries, to question the "grand narrative" written by the people in power.
