Synopsis:
“Yoo Dee” is short for the Thai saying “Yoo Dee Mee Suk” which translates roughly as “being happy in a good environment.”
In this story, YooDee is the name of the most unfortunate child in the world. However, unlike other children, YooDee has a special someone, her loved one. One day, YooDee and her loved one embark on a journey to a pleasant place. YooDee’s loved one says that if they are parted from each other during the journey, YooDee should follow the brightest star to find her loved one again. Unfortunately, as things are always unfortunate in YooDee’s life, her loved one goes missing. Here is where the adventure of YooDee begins.
About the Project:
B-Floor Theatre was invited to create a performance for children in Sendai province, Japan, the area where the effects of the tsunami still remain. "YooDee" has been created and designed as a performance for children to help them explore and communicate their feelings and fears. We hope that this performance will help facilitate the children in understanding their feelings, equip them with a positive attitude to prepare for physical and emotional hardships in the future, and enable them to convey and express their empathy towards their fellow human beings.
